ZINGANISATION® VERSUS PAINT

Paint does not offer an active, cathodic protection as ZINGA® does, for that requires 92% zinc in the dry layer. Even the so-called zinc-rich paints cannot compete with ZINGA®. With paint, the slightest scratch can lead to rust that spreads underneath the paint layer, whereas with ZINGA®, even a scratch one half centimetre deep will not lead to rust formation. Paint thus hardly qualifies as slightly more than a poor competitor. Paint does form a passive barrier but this barrier changes in time and by corrosive forces. For instance, UV radation is responsible for micro-cracks in the paint layer. Paint dissociates slowly and turns porous after some time. Cracks and blisters ultimately will lead to the coat flaking off.

niet okACTIVE PROTECTION?ok
Paint   ZINGA®
Not even paints with a relatively high zinc content can provide cathodic protection. It has been scientifically proven that a concentration of at least 92% of distilled zinc in the dry film is required to rightfully use the terminology "cathodic protection throughout the dry layer". Most of these zinc rich paints have only a small percentage of zinc, which does not guarantee a galvanising protection throughout the layer.                 ZINGA has the utmost important advantage that it offers a real cathodic (galvanic) protection. ZINGA® has a concentration of 96% special zinc in its dry layer! Moreover, ZINGA® is the only liquid galvanising protection that is based on special zinc dust pigments. The film galvanising system ZINGA® (also called "Zinganisation®") distinguishes itself from cold galvanisation because of its higher quality. Only the application method of ZINGA® can be compared to traditional paint products, and not its protective properties!
okPASSIVE PROTECTION?ok
Paint   ZINGA®
A paint provides a barrier protection. A layer of zinc salts slowly builds up on the ZINGA® surface. This creates a barrier protection for the metal substrate. Next to this, a supplementary barrier protection is provided by the binder in ZINGA®. The binder reduces the disintegration of the zinc.
okEASY APPLICATION?ok
Paint   ZINGA®
Easy application : by brush, roll, spraying, dipping,... Gemakkelijke applicatie ZINGA® can be applied in the same way as a paint.
niet okAPPLICATION IN BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS?ok
Paint   ZINGA®
Bad weather conditions and humidity can damage the paint layer. The application of ZINGA® is even possible in bad weather conditions.
niet okEASY SURFACE PREPARATION FOR RECOATING AND TOPCOATING?ok
Paint   ZINGA®
The old paint layer and the rust have to be removed before applying a new protection layer. Voorbereiding voor hercoaten en topcoaten Using ZINGA® will reduce the surface preparation to a minimum. On a clean ZINGA® surface, a new layer of ZINGA® can be applied. This new layer blends perfectly with the previous one.
niet okRE-LIQUIDISING?ok
Paint   ZINGA®
After curing, no paint will re-liquidise upon contact with the same paint. A cured ZINGA®-layer will re-liquidise upon contact with ZINGA®, even after 20 years.
niet okGOOD RESISTANCE TO DAMAGE AND ABRASION?ok
Paint   ZINGA®
A paint will crack easily when damaged, and rust will creep under the layer. ZINGA® is flexible. In case of mechanical damage, it will be squashed or compressed, but it will not crack.
